Mohaned Jeaze has spoken out about speculation that he was being chased by a big club with Swedish publisher Aftonblad naming Celtic as his likely transfer destination.
Towards the end of the SPFL season the Hammarby left-back was strongly linked with a move to Celtic. With a year left on his contract it seemed like the ideal time for the player to move on with Hammarby linked with replacement left-backs.
At some point during June Celtic switched their attention to Argentina with Alexandro Bernabei appearing to be very close to signing a five year contract.
Bringing in a 25-year-old from Sweden would be more in line with Ange Postecoglou’s previous transfer moves than a 21-year-old from Argentina but with Bernabei poised to join Celtic it seems that Jeaze feels let down by Hammarby blocking his chance to move on.
Following Hammarby’s 2-2 draw today with Hacken, Aftonblad reports:
After the match, Jeahze, who was chased by the big club Celtic, revealed that Hammarby nobbed an offer for him.
– I think I will stay in Hammarby. I have a contract for another year. I’m fully set on that now, Jeppe has said no to something too, says Jeahze and continues:
– Jeppe said no … you simply have to accept it. It may not have been enough for them (Hammarby). We’re at the top and it’s just rubbing on. It would have been a different matter if we were in the middle, it might have been heavier. Now there are no problems.

It looks like Hammarby have a slightly disappointed player on their hands- as Celtic demonstrate that they negotiate with a number of prospects rather than going all-in for one transfer target.
