PAOK have rejected an improved offer of £2m from Sevco for Antonio Colak.
The basic fee is well short of what the Greeks are looking for while the offer of bonus payments for Champions League qualification and goals was laughed at by the Greek club.
With five weeks to go until a Third Round Champions League qualifier Giovanni van Bronckhorst only has the fragile talents of Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe to turn to for the striker positions.
During the Europa League Final against Eintracht Frankfurt Fashio Sakala was furious at being sent on as a substitute then being replaced by Aaron Ramsey in the closing minutes of extra-time.
Despite the alleged £50m windfall from the run to Sevilla the Ibrox club has only added John Souttar to last season’s squad.
Earlier this year Sports Direct came to a settlement with the Ibrox club to the dispute created by former chairman Dave King when he broke contracts with Mike Ashley’s firm.
Former Malmo striker Colak has another two seasons left to run on his PAOK deal.
