Boli Bolingoli and Ismaila Soro are reported to be missing from Celtic’s pre-season training according to the Daily Record.
Both players dropped out of contention as Ange Postecoglou put his stamp on the squad last season, Bolingoli started two SPFL Premiership matches while Soro was mainly restricted to late appearances off the bench, the final one being on February 2.
In the training ground footage that Celtic have so far shared from Lennoxtown Liam Shaw and Osaze Urhoghide have been prominent while Bosun Lawal and Ben Summers from last season’s B squad featured today.
Albian Ajeti- another forgotten man- was spotted in the Daily Record report but the absences of Soro and Bolingoli hint of further outgoing business alongside Schalke bound Chris Jullien.
Bolingoli has provided regular Instagram updates of his summer work outs and could be working out in the gym at Lennoxtown. Little is known about Soro’s state of fitness.
Next week’s squad for Austria should shed more light on their situations, as well as looking out for Jota and Alexandro Bernabei there could be some highly paid players missing from Stage 2 of pre-season preparations.
Bolingoli is under contract for one more season according to Transfermarkt with Soro on a deal till May 2024.
