Celtic will open their defence of the SPFL Premiership trophy at home to Aberdeen on July 31 with a 4.30pm kick-off for Sky Sports. 

Ange Postecoglou’s side have been given a complete reverse of last season’s fixtures which saw them face had trips to Tynecastle and Ibrox within the first month of the season while the new manager was building his squad and trying to secure European football until Christmas. 

This season there are no UEFA qualifiers for Celtic to negotiate through giving the manager and squad a full week of training in-between the opening fixtures. 

Every midweek in August has scheduled UEFA qualifiers which is likely to stretch Celtic’s competitors, between the play-off matches Giovanni van Brnockhorst’s side face a trip to Easter Road to take on Hibs. 

Celtic face a heavy schedule of Champions League ties during October and November, domestically they have Motherwell and Hibs at home alongside away fixtures at St Johnstone, Hearts and Livingston. Hearts will also be playing UEFA group stage matches.

The season will halt for the World Cup Finals on November 12 when Ross County visit Celtic then resume away to Aberdeen on December 17. VAR is expected to be in use following the World Cup Finals.

Sky haven’t confirmed any televised matches beyond the first weekend of the season, after hosting Aberdeen Celtic are away to Ross County and Kilmarnock.
