On the day that he left their club Lanus have shared a picture of Alexandro Bernabei with Diego Maradona.
In 2008 the great man led the Argentinian national team through a training session at Celtic Pak before facing Scotland at Hampden but Maradona never managed to play a competitive game at Celtic Park during his time in Europe with Barcelona and Napoli.
Despite throwing the net far and wide for players Celtic have never had an Argentinian player, Juninho and Rafael Scheidt were from Brazil with Uruguay’s Diego Laxalt the most recent South American to wear the hoops.

Bernabei will get his first chance to play for Celtic next week when Ange Postecoglou takes his squad to Austria for two friendly matches.
The hunt is now on for further signings with expectations sky high that Jota will be that man- possibly on Friday with the new Adidas home kit likely to be launched.
