Footy Headlines have published details of Celtic’s third kit for the new season.

In keeping with many third kits produced by Adidas their Celtic design is certainly vastly different from traditional looks and is described as ‘an unusual design in light grey with accents in black and bright yellow’.

This season Celtic brought out their Away kit first of all with the mainly black with thinner green and white stripes going down very well, the kit was a nod towards an Umbro design of the early nineties which was a highlight during some bleak playing times.

The home kit was given a lukewarm reception, it seemed over complicated with patterns through the hoops and silver/grey Adidas stripes on the shoulders.

Despite that criticism the kit is highly visible across the west of Scotland and will be seen in huge numbers today when Celtic host Aberdeen in their opening SPFL fixture.

Footy Headlines reports:

The Adidas Celtic 22-23 third shirt introduces an unusual design in light grey with accents in black and bright yellow.

All logos on the front of the Adidas Celtic 2022-23 third shirt, as well as the 3 Stripes on the shoulders, are bright yellow, with the club badge and Dafabet sponsor featuring a fine outline.

Completing the look, the Adidas Celtic Football Club 2022-23 third shirt has black sleeve cuffs with an intricate pattern, coloured in yellow.

Nope, that top is terrible. With the cost of living crisis, the second strip is a much better pick if you can afford it.Times are bad enough without walking about in a grey top that most people wouldn’t even think was a Celtic top.Still say that the Hoops should’ve had Green and Gold stripes on the shoulders, the grey ones look c.ap.

I’d need to see it in the flesh but I hate it from the pictures I’ve seen, I’ve got the home and away tops but I don’t think I’ll be buying this one.

Nothing wrong with this season’s home shirt!!..

As for the 3rd top – I’d love (if it is possible) to see the badge embroiled with a “hi-viz” thread, that stands out more in low-light scenarios.
