In one of the most predictable moves in the media Kenny Macintyre has been confirmed as the new host of Radio Scotland’s Sportsound show, replacing Richard Gordon.
With his entire broadcasting career spent inside the bubble of the state broadcaster, following in the footsteps of his Daddy, Macintyre will ensure that Sportsound continue their hostility to Celtic.
Last season Ange Postecoglou regularly toyed with the Ibrox fanatic in pre and post match interviews.
When it comes to grilling the managers of Celtic, Aberdeen and Hibs Kenny tackles the issue like a rottweiler, when it comes to discussions with his Ibrox heroes he struggles to get beyond ‘there was a few characters in that dressing room eh?’ or ‘you guys must have had some great nights out, eh?’

Kenny MacIntyre: Ange, I’d love to know your thoughts on that game. I’ve seen some fantastic matches this season, that certainly wasn’t one of them, it was a hard watch at times, is that fair?
Ange Postecoglou: Well it depends on what you are looking for, maybe you are disappointed at the way that it went mate, I’m not really sure.
Macintyre trying to but in: No it is not that, I just felt, I just felt
Postecoglou: We’ve won a game 2-0, they didn’t create anything, I think that we dominated the football, it is a bit hard when the opposition sit so deep. If anything I thought we were better. We were solid, we stayed composed, we did what we had to do to weigh down an opposition that was sitting deep and defending well.
Backed by a cast that includes Alasdair Lamont, Jane Lewis, Tom English, Steven Thompson, Neil McCann, Richard Foster and Kenny Miller the team at the BBC will be going the extra miles to gloss over the so-called dispute between the state broadcaster and the Ibrox Tribute Act.
Gregory Campbell of the DUP was a guest on Sportsound during the summer of 2020.

Rangers are my team, never hidden that. Be strange to have someone working on Sportsound that didn’t support a team.
As for Kris Boyd. I know at times he is a wind up merchant, but he talks up our game. Would he be in the Sky studio tonight if he wasn’t such a big personality?

Actually makes me sick listening to a sycophanny like it. So I won’t listen! But I’d rather be sick thanbe kissing proddy arses all my life just to earn a living!
It’s amazing what a thickly HANDSHAKE gets you these days. An absolute FUD and BIGOT of the HIGHEST kind.
Bet he got the job on the same basis that McLeish got the Scotland job. That he was the obvious candidate for the job – and a Hun! No transparency whatsoever from the publicly funded corporation.
He comes across like his age is greater than his IQ, even before i knew who he was! The “Rangers Are My Team…” quote must be one of the dumbest things I have ever heard in my entire natural life!
