Maeda Magic- watch Daizen’s opener as Celtic beat Norwich 2-0

Daizen Maeda lit up Celtic’s pre-season win over Norwich City with a brilliant piece of improvisation to open the scoring in the 36th minute. 

When Matt O’Riley’s pass struck Grant Handley it found its way to Josip Juranovic on the overlap, straight away the ball was sent across the goalmouth with Maeda spinning to back-heel the ball into the net off Tim Krul before the Norwich keeper really knew what was happening. 

It was one of the few first half chances that Celtic created but worth the wait as Ange Postecoglou’s side edged their way in front.

On the 58th minute Postecoglou made seven changes with one of the subs, David Turnbull, doubling Celtic’s lead in the 67th minute after taking a pass from Giorgos Giakoumakis, side-stepping a challenge then netting from 17 yards out. 

Moritz Jenz was one of the 58th minute substitutes with fellow new bhoy Aaron Moy getting on for the last 15 minutes when he replaced Man of the Match Reo Hatate.
