The Herald has surprisingly published criticism of the Ibrox Tribute Act, highlighting that their new away shirt comes complete with an advert for another company that died on its feet- Sportemon Go.Â
Early last season Steven Gerrard and John Lundstram launched the exciting new digital partnership with the NFT with commercial guru James Bisgrove driving the deal through.Â
At the start of May Sportemon Go went pop but three months on their logo is on the back of the new Castore shirt with fans offered a cover up if they return the shirt to the club store.Â
Covering the issue, The Herald reports:Â
RANGERS have today released their new Castore away shirt for the 2022/23 season and fans will have to buy the jersey with defunct sponsor Sportemon Go on the back.Â
The NFT company went bust after their branding had already been printed on thousands of Gers shirts.Â
The Ibrox club have received criticism from some fans for their partnership with Sportemon Go when it was first announced and supporters will be frustrated with the branding on their new shirts.Â
Rangers have though confirmed that they will offer free cover-ups when a replacement back of shirt sponsorship deal is announced this year.Â
The club said: “The back of the shirt displays SportemonGo and the Rangers Store will offer supporters the complimentary option to have new branding applied in this area, when we announce our new 22/23 season back of shirt partner within the coming weeks.”Â
As usual the new kit was released first by Sports Direct who recently had their case for multiple contract breaches settled by the club.Â
Was it the sponsor or the holding company that went bust?

Sport Mongo sums these chanty wrassler bastards up perfectly.
No.
Just take the tops back to the sevco shop, and have the logo extended to,
“The” Sportemon Go.
Sorted.
The The Rangers could probably charge a few quid for the “The” too… 🙂
The gift that keeps on giving!
Sport gee-gaws more like.
