Panic sets in among Ibrox fans as austerity bites deeply

Panic is setting in among Ibrox fans over the transfer austerity policy imposed on Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Not a penny has been spent on new faces as the squad flies out to Portugal for pre-season training, ‘strengthened’ only by John Souttar and a host of hyped up starlets.

One brilliant aspect to the turmoil is that there isn’t a single fan-media site prepared to question club policy while across the city Celtic have spent close to £20m.

With the carrot of media access to ask dull and boring questions to van Bronckhorst none of the fan-sites is prepared to break rank and ask what has happened to the record commercial income and the cash generated from the run to Seville. Mentioning Sports Direct in the reply may be too upsetting for some.

While many fans try to parrot the messages sent out by Barry ‘£55m of players’ Ferguson and Kris ‘no wages in June’ Boyd some are starting to see through the spin.

In just over four weeks the first Champions League qualifier will be played, if successful there are four midweek matches through August to join Celtic in the Champions League draw.

Unable to get PAOK to sell Antonio Colak a repeat of last season’s Malmo nightmare is on the cards… while Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Joe Aribo countdown to leaving next summer as free agents.
