So far this season Ange Postecoglou has kept change to a minimum.

The same front three have started all four SPFL matches, Joe Hart has played every minute in goals, Moritz Jenz has replaced the injured Stephen Welsh with David Turnbull doing the same with Reo Hatate.

Postecoglou looks as if he knows his first choice XI but over the next two and a half months the fixtures come non-stop starting from today at Tannadice.

As he checks his diary the Celtic boss has Dundee United, Ross County, the Glasgow Derby and a Champions League opener against Real Madrid to come in the next 10 days, followed almost as quickly by Livingston, Shakhtar Donetsk and St Mirren.

Squad depth and rotation look essential but speaking to the Daily Record, Postecoglou is giving nothing away:

We’ve been working hard in this period to prepare a squad for all of these games coming up. Even the guys who haven’t had game time, we’ve given them bounce games to get to levels where they’re ready to go.

It’s about a group of players. Sometimes we’ll take into account the previous game and how much that match took out of the players but every time I’ll pick a team to get the job done.

If I pick a cup goalkeeper, I will be limiting myself. Goalkeepers want to play every game. Joe is our No.1 but Benji has been outstanding in training and Scott Bain is working hard. Come midweek, I’ll make a decision on what is best to win the games, whether that’s in goal or in any other position.

Yosuke Ideguchi is the only first team squad player currently out injured but the midfielder is expected to be back in full training next week.
