Ange Postecoglou has made three changes to the team that started against Hearts for today’s match with Dundee United.
Carl Starfelt and Liel Abada start their first matches of the season with Reo Hatate recalled to midfield. Moritz Jenz, Daizen Maeda and David Turnbull drop down to the bench.
The return of Starfelt reunites the Swede with Cameron Carter-Vickers, the partnership that played in all 18 SPFL matches following last season’s winter break. With a Glasgow derby and Champions League campaign on the horizon it looks like Postecoglou is wanting to see how that pairing performs.
Abada’s return should see Jota starting on the left, on the bench Giorgos Giakoumakis is missing with James McCarthy taking his place.
Steven McLean will referee today’s match, his second Premiership match of the season with the other being at Tannadice three weeks ago when Livingston won 1-0.
