For years Celtic fans debated online whether Martin O’Neill or Gordon Strachan was the more successful manager.

Statistically it is Strachan every time, three SPL titles out of four and leading the club into the last 16 of the Champions League twice. O’Neill won three titles out of five and took the club to the 2003 UEFA Cup Final.

It is an argument that will never be decided, O’Neill’s time probably felt better, the support was galvanised and motivated in a way no-one could have imagined, Strachan’s time in charge was colder and less emotional.

Yesterday Jim Spence fired off a tweet that is bound to run and run. There will be strong emotional calls to be made against, again, statistics.

Ange or Brendan- Whose team was the better?

Rodgers- his record probably won't ever be matched

Postecoglou- no one could match the job he has done

Rodgers won eight trophies on the bounce then sneaked off in the night leaving Celtic supporters angry, some very angry. All of those statements of devotion and dedication were just soundbites, he chucked it all away for Leicester.

Ange Postecoglou has only been Celtic manager for 15 months, less than half Rodgers time at the club but there are some very certain signs.

By mid-November a more measured assessment can be made once the Australian has taken Celtic into the Champions League.

Postecoglou won’t win his first eight trophies, hopefully when he leaves it is in a more respectful manner but if he makes Celtic competitive in the Champions League, perhaps with seven or more points this season and bags a treble he’ll be right in there to be compared with Rodgers.

I disagree Jim Celtic nearly beat and could of won against Man City they had been on a run of 50 to 60 odds without losing a game and drawing both games.
Also pretty sure we beat lepzig and salzburg not bad for a team who’d been only invested properly in the first season.
In Europe last year Bodo/Glimt in both leagues they made it look so easy beating us.
I want ange to say we gave it a go we had a bit of luck and because of the aggregate score 18 nil against the royalist of Madrid well get to play football after Christmas.

I don’t think Rodgers “Sneaked Off In The Night”, as you put it! Clearly there was some disagreement within the Club and he was entitled to leave under terms of his contract: he is a professional football manager after all! As for his claims of devotion to Celtic, all I remember him saying is that he was born into the Celtic family, as many people around the world are – and are Celtic supporters! I don’t think you can castigate him for that! His record as Celtic Manager speaks for itself and, with that, you can’t really argue!

Steven Mcginn just look what he’s worth all for the sake of 500,000 and again The Jellyfish Lawwell expecting him to sign as he’s a Celtic supporter.
Jock Stein should of been given the keys to Parkhead except given the Celtic pool’s job.
Wim Jansen was getting less for funds for the following season he decided to walk.
Tommy Burns walked out the front door after being sacked fergus wanted him to go out the back door as Burns said I’ve done nothing wrong to be be ushered out the back door I’m going out the front door with my head held high and show what management are like.

Martin O’Neil no funds for the next season after Seville.
Gordon Strachan Steven Fletcher and after the Tommy Burns league win less money to spend than the previous and reaching the last 16 in champions league twice.
Neil Lennon less funds than the previous season.
Ronnie Delia hung out to dry by the board.
So as per my Oldman and me the teams from positions of strength ?ot nothing for getting better and further in Europe.
The board lined there pockets and blamed the manager’s for being unprofessional and not following orders by the board dividends shares profits and despising a world renowned supporters.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg 5 way agreement resolution 12 blatant cheating from the sfa police media referee’s spfl.
