Leigh Griffiths has signed a two match contract with Australian NPL side Mandurah City.

Even by the standards of the former Celtic striker it seems a bizarre move which appears to be a holiday in Australia with a couple of regional league matches thrown in with a club based south of Sydney.

Twelve months ago Griffiths was still a Celtic player, making the bench for a couple of the early matches under Ange Postecoglou but loan spells at Dundee and Falkirk confirmed his rapid decline.

Turning 32 in a fortnight time looks to be running out on the striker who scored twice for Scotland against England just five years ago.

John Baird, who played for more than a dozen Scottish clubs including Raith Rovers, Partick Thistle and Falkirk is the head coach with Mandurah.
