Favoured fan site The Rangers Review has mercilessly put the boot into Alfredo Morelos claiming that he has had weight issues dating back five years.

Less than a week ago all was sweetness and light surrounding the best striker at the club, last month Giovanni van Bronckhorst had told Sky News that all parties were close to signing a new contract.

Yesterday the same broadcaster was chosen to release the devastating news, it was more than Morelos being left out of the squad to face PSV Eindhoven. The club had issues with the players attitude, his weight and the decision to bin him was backed by senior players.

It seems that those inside Ibrox have finally given up on the notion that the chunky Colombian could be sold for Dembele Dollars.

The Rangers Review is currently the most on-message of websites, chosen to release every bit of club information, every transfer denial knowing that editor Johnny McFarlane and his team will do exactly as instructed, Without fail or question.

Discussing yesterday’s developments in the Rangers Review McFarlane explains:

It’s a situation that would have seemed unthinkable mere months ago but comes as the entire club grows weary of making allowances for their star man’s lack of basic professionalism. And it’s manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s ongoing concerns regarding the player’s attitude and fitness that is the key driver of this decision.

Simply put, Morelos arrived back from his summer recuperation period carrying unacceptable levels of weight. Sources say that since then his attitude and behaviour around the club have not been at the level expected of an elite player.

The manager has taken his tough stance with the full backing of senior figures and the influential player leadership group are understood to be firmly behind the decision.

Close observers would have seen a red flag when captain James Tavernier took an unusually hard line with the Colombian after the 2-2 draw with Hibs on Saturday where he branded his violent conduct red card “stupid”.

Later on Antonio Colak is described as the ultimate professional.

Morelos won’t need that article translated to get the message from inside the club, in 10 paydays time he will be able to walk away from it all if he hasn’t already had his contract paid off.

Look, Morelos was a train wreck pulling out of the station! The Rangers were given plenty of warnings about his attitude and weight ! Selfish and arrogant on the park . Every time he scored ,it was all back name pointing and me, me. me attitude . If this was the first or second time it happened, fair do’s! It’s not as if Alfoodo is the first nut job employee. There was the figure of fun Gazza! So ,hell mend them for their self inflicted wounds ,again .
