West Ham piled the pressure on Steven Gerrard with a 1-0 win at Villa Park, it was the first EPL points of the season for the Londoners.
After being given the money to rebuild the squad in the summer the Villa supporters and directors are discovering the reality of life with a media darling of very limited ability in the dug-out.
Simply put, Gerrard is miles out of his comfort zone but with Jamie Carracher, Danny Murphy, Jamie Redknapp and others squealing his praises the Villa board fell for the myth.
Stan Collymore pays a little attention to Scottish football and is clearly off message. One trophy out of 12 isn’t great, if it was Callum Davidson would be managing in the EPL.
Villa fans are discovering that Gerrard’s team is as dull, boring and predictable as the guy drawing a salary from the dug-out.
The stats are building up, with Bobby Madden, John Beaton, Kevin Clancy and other friendly faces no longer around Gerrard is bang in trouble, with the brains of his management team now at QPR the matches against Arsenal and Manchester City could destroy a myth once and for all.
When Gerrard arrived at Villa last November it was in anticipation of moving on to Liverpool soon after, a record of 12 Wins, 5 Draws and 16 defeats isn’t going to make any impact on the decision-makes at Anfield.
Brendan Rodgers may soon be looking for work with a budget in the Midlands area.
SG under pressure. Will be interesting to see if he gets same scrutiny as other managers amongst friends in media who’ve been suspiciously absent in analysis thus far.
If he does fail then Purslow should go. Ignored a plethora of quality coaches for his own vanity pick.

Stevie G is on the brink of becoming the worst Aston Villa manager in their 148 year history.

If Aston Villa lose their next two games then Steven Gerrard is statistically the WORST manager in our history since 1874.
Aston Villa face Arsenal away and Man City at home next. #AVFC
