Celtic’s SPFL Trust Cup tie at Dunfermline next week has been put back two months due to international commitments.

Eight Celtic players are away with Scotland squads next week with Daniel Kelly, Magnus McKenzie. Corey Thompson and Benny Jackson Luweye with the u-18 squad and Matthew Anderson, Adam Brooks, Ben McPherson and Kenzie Carse on duty with Scotland’s u-19 side.

The B team beat Albion Rovers and Livingston B to reach the third round, Dunfermline, now managed by James McPake will be a step up in quality of opposition but before the trip to East End Park on November 15 the young Celtic will be involved in four UEFA Youth League ties.

Celtic’s next outing is away to Gala in the Lowland League on October 1 quickly followed by a visit to RB Leipzig in the UEFA Youth League.

After losing to Real Madrid and Shakhtar Donetsk qualification looks unlikely but there seems to have been a marked improvement from the 6-0 defeat to Real against the Ukraine side with Celtic going down 2-1.
