Liam Shaw has joined Morecambe on loan for the season.
In February 2021 the midfielder signed a pre-contract agreement to join Celtic from Sheffield Wednesday and featured in pre-season games under Ange Postecoglou last summer.
Shaw made his competitive debut in the Europa League tie at home to Real Betis in December then had a brief appearance against St Mirren but the January signings of Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi and Matt O’Riley confirmed that his prospects at Celtic were bleak.

A January move to Motherwell failed to work out although he did come off the bench to help the Steelmen to a useful 2-2 draw at Ibrox having trailed 2-0 at half time.
Morecambe, managed by former Ross County boss Derek Adams, are in second bottom place in League One but the prospect of regular football gives Shaw the chance to pick up on the promise that he showed at Sheffield Wednesday.

Far away hills are always greener. It was a pity that LIam didn’t play the long game. Football wise he would have been in a better place to day.
Editor: Exactly, Celtic seem to have learned their lessons and abandoned the Projects route, we haven’t a clue how to develop players.
