New footage has emerged from Celtic’s Champions League tie against Real Madrid.
After a fierce footballing battle over 90 minutes played in the right spirit in front of a highly passionate crowd two of the central figures enjoyed a brief moment together.
Without Ange Postecoglou Wednesday night wouldn’t have happened. Not a chance. Single handedly the Australian raised Celtic from the shambles he inherited last summer. Nine of the Celtic starters were signed by the current manager.
Was tidying up footage I had taken at Tuesday’s Celtic – Real Madrid Champions League game and came across this clip of Ange embracing Luka Modric. Love the way Ange gives a little tug of Luka’s hair.
There’s also a bonus clip of Kroos and Courtois saluting the Celtic fans. pic.twitter.com/GJPKG0uVBz

At the final whistle Postecoglou went to the centre of the pitch, taking in what he had created, after five long, painful years littered with disastrous European performances Celtic were back centre stage.
Yards away from Postecoglou was Luka Modric, a genuine great of the game after a decade at Real Madrid, involved in five Champions League triumphs, a genuine successor to Ferenc Puskas who helped shape the ideas that Postecoglou brought to Celtic. There was a brief acknowledgement, a few words shared, a respect between them.
As someone previously said, Tuesday wasn’t the end for Celtic or Ange. It is just the beginning with five more fixtures culminating in a match in the Bernabeu Stadium- and onwards.
