Mhairi Fulton has tweeted that her Dad, Murdo MacLeod, is recovering from a routine heart valve replacement.
A couple of worrying messages had appeared on social media with some people wanting to be ‘in the know’ or ahead of the game. In situations like this it has clearly caused some concern and alarm for family and friends.
@murdomacleod06 Just to stop any rumours flying about. My dad has had his heart valve replaced, which is routine 10-15 years after the initial operation. His operation went well and he is currently in recovery ???? thank you for all your good wishes.

Murdo was one of Billy McNeill’s first signings as Celtic manager, moving from Dumbarton in November 1978 for £100,000.
Over the next nine years he gave the club terrific service with a key role in some historic triumphs including the 1979 Ten Men Won The League, the Centenary Scottish Cup Final and the 1986 Title Win at Love Street.
After a successful spell with Borussia Dortmund he joined Hibs where he captained them to the 1991 Skol Cup Final win.
