Eighteen months or a year ago it would have been a ridiculous question to pose but after a 38 match unbeaten run in the SPFL why not?
Real Madrid are on a different planet to any club that Celtic have faced this year but Ange Postecoglou’s side couldn’t go into Tuesday match in a better frame of mind.
Since the turn of the year Celtic have won 21 out of 24 matches in the SPFL, in six matches this season they have racked up full points and a goal difference of plus 24.
A year ago the players would have smiled and moved on but asked by a young fan about Tuesday’s match there was a quiet confidence from Callum McGregor, Liel Abada, Greg Taylor and Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Last season Celtic took a few sore ones in Europe, they lost eight goals in their first two Europa League group matches but this season things feel very different.
Not many Celtic fans expect a win against Real but 60,000 ticket holders are fascinated to see how Angeball fares against the team that beat Liverpool in their last Champions League tie to win the trophy for the 14th time, 13 more than Celtic.
