Kenny Miller has put the boot into Giovanni van Bronckhorst and the Ibrox Recruitment Team.

Two 4-0 defeats- and the manner of the gutless surrenders- has sent a chill through Ibrox supporters with their media figures fearing a full on return to The Banter Years.

Over the defeats to Celtic and Ajax two myths were destroyed. Van Bonckhorst hasn’t got Ange Postecoglou sussed and he doesn’t have a magic formula for dealing with European opposition.

Napoli sent out a 4-1 calling card by destroying Liverpool to send a blanket of fear over Ibrox that saw the club try to postpone the match but succeed only in getting a 24 hour delay.

Kris Boyd went on the attack last night in The Sun, claiming that the Dutchman was manager in name only. Miller turned his attention towards the transfer market and £12m wasted while Jota and Carter-Vickers are powering Celtic further ahead at the top of the SPFL.

Listening to Miller on Radio Clyde, The Sun reports:

The recruitment side is getting a lot of scrutiny at the moment and there are reported figures of £12million that are not even anywhere near the team at the moment.

Yilmaz, Davies and even Matondo, you throw those three players in – £4m, £6m and £2m if that’s accurate – they’re nowhere near the team at the moment.

When you’re recruiting in a summer, Rangers or Celtic, when you’re spending that type of money, they have to be hits. They have to make an impact on that first team.

At the moment, there’s question marks over Davies – is he going to be the long-term partner for (Connor) Goldson and has he got the quality?

Matondo we’ve seen in flashes but at the moment, he’s not going to be a starter. Yilmaz, we’ve barely seen any of him.

There’s not been much evidence of if it’s going to be money well spent. It might be a project but it’s a lot of money spent on a project.

You go on the other side, (Celtic) sign Carter-Vickers and Jota, and they’re the same players, so are they going to make Celtic better? Well they spent their money and they’ve spent that money really wisely.

Some good news for van Bronckhorst is that John Souttar is expected to resume light training in 7/10 days.

Another one who can’t stop talking about Celtic. “Celtic Or Rangers”! I bet a day never goes by without Miller thinking of Celtic!
