James Sands has revealed that he is sharing a locker room full of winners.

That news will come as something as a shock to Ibrox fans who have watched their side lose six matches since the start of September.

Sands was pitched into last night’s match against Napoli where he was chasing shadows in midfield beside John Lundstram as the Italians eased to a 3-0 victory in second gear.

Last night the American soccer guy lasted the full 90 minutes which is better than the corresponding match at Ibrox where he was red carded.

With fans howling for van Bronckhorst to be sacked their players are being instructed to talks things up but chatting with Andy Newport of the Daily Record, Sands took things too far:

It is all about taking what we can learn from these experiences and using them in the league. These are the best players in the world so the fact that we are stringing together passes and creating good chances shows that if we can do it against them we can do it against anyone.

It is definitely something that we can learn from. These are the top teams and any chance you give them they will score from it.

We had a little trouble closing out the wide areas, maybe gave them a little too much time to serve the crosses but we adjusted well in the second-half and limited the chances they had. I am sure it still can be a positive season.

We are a locker room full of winners. When we lose a game like that 3-0 you are never happy but there are two ways you can look at it. You can sit there and sulk or you can try and take something away from it. That has kind of been the message from the boss. It is something we will try to implement going forward.

Sands has one more chance to pick up a Champions League point when Ajax visit Ibrox next week, James Tavernier with two winners medals out of 21 will wear the armband of dignity against the Dutch side

The 22-year-old is on loan from New York City until the end of this season.

    Crosses ???????

Maybe if the two centre half’s could jump more than 6 inches fae the grass then they’d be able tae defend crosses better…
