Alex Rae believes that Celtic’s lead at the top of the SPFL is under threat.
It may well be cut down from four points later today but a win away to Livingston tomorrow will ensure that the hoops stay at least four clear at the top of the table.
Last season Celtic moved into top spot with a 3-0 win in the Glasgow derby on February 2, that single point stretched to six by the time Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side returned to the east end of the city in May although the final margin was cut down to four.
With 10 wins out of their first 11 SPFL matches Celtic have got off to a strong start bolstered by a goal difference advantage of 13.
Picking up on an interview elsewhere, the Daily Record reports Rae saying:
One thing I’ll say is that the title race isn’t over. Four points is not a big gap at this stage in the season but Rangers have obviously got to negotiate past Aberdeen at the weekend and they’re the third-best team in the league right now.
Jim Goodwin has recruited well in the summer so that game will be massive for them. It’s a huge week for everyone concerned with Rangers Football Club. I still maintain that Celtic will drop more points and so Rangers just need to make sure that the gap doesn’t increase.
There are four more rounds of fixtures to be played before the World Cup break with Celtic also away to Motherwell and at home to Ross County and Dundee United.
After a spell concentrating on his media work Rae is now assistant manager to Paul Ince at Reading.
Who gives a fuck what this brain dead ugly gimp thinks?
Is there a single brain cell within the screaming skull?
Why is the long lost love child of the Elephant Man still allowed an opinion.
Did he actually say”negotiate past Aberdeen”? Ma dug has a better grasp of the English language. Actually, ma dug was a better player .Fanny.
Bitterness from the Screaming Skull, again
