Celtic look in danger of losing another emerging talent from their Academy.

Earlier this year Ben Doak opted to join Liverpool with goalkeeper Rory Mahady opting to turn professional with Leeds United.

Rocco Vata is a step up from both of those prospects, featuring regularly in the Lowland League for the Celtic B team, but the lure of moving to a top English or Italian side is bound to carry appeal.

Picking up on interest from Italy, The Sun reports:

ROCCO VATA is attracting interest from some of the best clubs in Europe, according to reports.

The Celtic starlet has reportedly caught the eyes of Serie A giants AC Milan, Juventus and Roma. Premier League sides Manchester City and Arsenal have been credited with interest in the 17-year-old as well.

Vata has been a regular for Celtic’s B team – scoring four goals in 11 appearances in the Lowland League this season.

The Republic of Ireland youth international netted in his side’s Uefa Youth League campaign too as he got on the scoresheet after just ONE minute of their 2-1 win over RB Leipzig in Germany.

And reports in Italy claim the starlet’s form hasn’t gone unnoticed.

With former Celtic team-mates at Liverpool, Manchester City and Bayern Munich Vata will be well aware of the set-ups and pathways elsewhere.

While playing in the Lowland League is a step up on u-17 or u-18 football it still leaves a massive gap to Ange Postecoglou’s first team squad.

Going out on loan to St Johnstone, Airdrie or another Scottish side looks an unlikely pathway to first team football at Celtic.

With the loan networks that Manchester City and Arsenal have Vata would have a number of options to consider that are more likely to develop his career.

On loan at League One Airdrie Ben Wylie has started two SPFL matches with a further four appearances off the bench.

According to Transfermarkt Vata is under contract with Celtic until May 2024.
