Graham Spiers has delivered a brutal verdict on Alfredo Morelos.

The striker was in from the start last night against Napoli, struggled through 68 minutes before being replaced by Antonio Colak after missing an open goal.

With just over seven months left on his contract last night’s display wasn’t the best for a 26-year-old looking to earn a contract anywhere but Ibrox.

The truth is that Morelos has never been anything more than average but with insecurity haunting Ibrox the Scottish media has been played to hype him up way beyond his skill set.

Ten transfer windows have passed without a serious offer being made despite the regular stream of tales about clubs keeping tabs, preparing an offer and monitoring events. Colin Nish had as much chance of winning a lucrative move to Porto/Benfica/Fenerbahce/Newcastle.

After a thigh operation last spring Morelos missed the start of this season, his waistline became a laughing point with even Willie Collum forced into sending him off after a typically bad tempered display off the bench against Hibs.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst hit out at the Colombian’s attitude and conditioning, suspended him then welcomed him back when he realised that the board wouldn’t sanction signing a new striker in August.

Two goals across 14 appearances this season sums the player up, in January there will be no offers of Dembele Dollars as Spiers and others realise that they’ve been sucked iby yet another average yet overhyped Ibrox star.

Been touted for Newcastle move a few times, toon fans who follow Rangers all said he’d be great as he’s a bully to defenders.

Every time he came up against a real bully Broony had him either in his arse pocket or back in dressing room early.

He was cutting about like the Michelin man with all that excess blubber ! Then when he was too slow to win a tackle he put in a snide one ,hoping the ref did not see it .A spoiled brat description ,does not do Alfoodo justice .
