Celtic are bracing themselves for January interest in Josip Juranovic according to a report in the Daily Mail.
As a team-mate of Luka Modric in the Croatian squad a strong showing by the defender at the World Cup Finals is likely to attract interest with the January transfer window opening a week after the final in Qatar. Croatia have been drawn with Belgium, Canada and Morocco in Group F.
Celtic paid Legia Warsaw around £2m for Juranovic in August 2021 with the defender making an instant impact at right-back.
Tony Ralston has played Celtic’s last two SPFL matches but it has been Juranovic that has started all five Champions League matches with the Croat almost certain to start the match against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
The well informed Stephen McGowan of the Daily Mail reports:
Celtic are also bracing themselves for more interest in Croatian right-back Josip Juranovic after the World Cup finals.
Juranovic is under contract until 2026 but as the Kieran Tierney deal in 2019 illustrated if the price is right Celtic will do business.
At the age of 27 there is unlikely to be much of a re-sale value for any club signing Juranovic but a Croatian internationalist with Champions League experience is likely to attract attention, and possibly offers.
Back in June Fabrizio Romano tweeted that there was growing interest in Juranovic.
