Graeme Souness wants Celtic to ditch Celtic Park to play in a mythical 100,000 capacity shared stadium at some unknown Glasgow location!
Word recently leaked out that this will be the last season that Sky Sports will be calling on the expert opinion of the former Liverpool boss.
Since leaving school in Edinburgh Souness has only spent five years living in Scotland, from the retirement village of Bournemouth his views on Scottish football have rarely been more detached from reality.
While he managed Rangers in the eighties he chose to live in Edinburgh, close to his pal Dave Murray, rarely venturing into Glasgow unless it was work related.
Choosing the lazy option of bundling both Glasgow clubs together at every opportunity, Souness explains to Daily Mail readers:
I live in Bournemouth where the club has an 11,000-seater stadium but play in the Premier League on the back of annual TV income upwards of £90million. Celtic and Rangers are huge clubs with massive fanbases and capacities in excess of 50,000 but their TV money is about £2m or £3m a year.
So there is your answer. If they agreed to build a 100,000-capacity stadium to share and joined the Premier League they would soon be top-half clubs. I would have them down here in a heartbeat. The rest of Scottish football would not collapse. It would simply have to find its own level.

Neither Celtic Park or Ibrox sit in areas of high demand for residential housing, unlike sleepy Bournemouth.
Souness’ suggestion is about the most detached from reality since Wallace Mercer’s attempt to merge Hibs into Hearts in 1990.
Not many Celtic fans would want to sit in a stadium that was being used by another set of supporters every second week.

If Celtic was to fill in the last quarter of Celtic park it would be one of the best stadium in the world never mind Scotland. Graham needs to move into the real world and realise that the English premiership only survives because of the vast amount of cash that is put in by sky.
Most of the English premier ship teams do no have the stadium capacity to survive without the sky cash. So let’s be real about this there are only a small number of clubs in England that could compete with the fan base of Celtic and rangers.
The capacity of both Scottish clubs stadiums are well enough supported without grahams mad cap idea.
Facts. He chose to live in Edinburgh to be close to his father. He initially lived in the Norton House Hotel, then owned by David Murray and that was how they met. It was Souness who informed Murray that Lawrence Marlborough was looking for a buyer for Rangers. As Souness lives and did live in england for most of his life. Why does he not suggest that everton and liverpool share a stadium or both the manchester clubs . By the state of maintenance at Ibrox in the here and now where are the rangers going to find the money for a super stadium and what happens if one team runs into financial trouble and can’t afford there half of maintenance or agree to signing off what’s deemed necessary maintenance. Plus Celtic already have a reasonably new modern stadium they could easily expand by building onto the main stand if they thought it was worth the additional income which I suspect it’s not or they would have. More chance of seeing this Celtic hotel fantasy plan come to fruition. plus there’s no way the other clubs are ever going to accept Celtic and rangers moving into the money pot that is the premier League why would they vote for that,only way it,l happen is if a European super League gets go ahead after the upcoming court case, more chance of getting into it. Celtic have the opportunity to expand Celtic Park as they’ve already bought the air space at Celtic Park for a 75,000 to 80,000 Stadium
