Chris Sutton joined the acclaim for Reo Hatate’s brilliance as he scored Celtic’s third goal of the night at Motherwell in the League Cup.
Leading thanks to a double from Liel Abada the midfielder showed his class, strength and natural ability on the hour mark when he collected a cut back from the Israeli.
There was no space for any conventional player to work on but Hatate used his strength to rll one defender, slipped the ball from his right foot onto his left then poked his shot past the bemused Liam Kelly in the Motherwell goal. 3-0. Game over.

Celtic had dominated the first half but had to wait until the 43rd minute for the breakthrough from Abada.
Ten minutes after the break the 21-year-old was on target again before Kyogo Furuhashi completed the scoring in the 76th minute to put Celtic into the semi-final draw alongside Kilmarnock with the other two ties underway.
I absolutely agree with big Chris. In real time watching the footwork by Hatate I was gobsmacked!
Watching live in ourclub, I asked my friend beside me, “did you see the speed of that footwork?”. He hadn’t noticed. I said watch the replay. They showed it over a few times.
The more you see it, the more you want to!
Had this been Messi, Ronaldo, Salah even Larsson, or anyone else they would have raved about it for weeks, months even!
Hatate had no right to score there but his absolute genius ensured he did!
Hail Hail Reo!
Sheer genius!
