David Martindale has gone against the grain by admitting that Celtic are a very different side to their city rivals.

Robbie Neilson played along with the lazy media default last week when he lumped the two Glasgow teams together as he prepared for Celtic’s visit to Tynecastle.

Livi took a point from Ibrox on Saturday, heading clear 72 crosses sent in from the wings but on Sunday they’ll face a very different proposition as Celtic play it on the deck looking to break teams down through fast movement.

In the past Livingston has been deemed a bogey ground for Celtic but after losing there last September the hoops enjoyed a 3-1 victory in February as they powered towards lifting the SPFL title.

Two totally different games (last weekend and Sunday). I think Celtic are the team to beat. I think Ange has done a fantastic job. They’re flying. Very, very difficult to break down and very, very difficult to stop but we’ll go into the game with our own game plan.

Probably two banks of five, I’m only kidding. We’ll go in and try and impose our game plan on Celtic but I think they’re the team to beat this season.

I think they’re fantastic. They’ve made massive progress from the minute Ange walked into that building to where they are now, he’s transformed them. They’re a top, top team

I think they’ve been really, really unlucky in the Champions League games so that shows you the calibre of where Celtic are as a club.

Last night’s draw with Shakhtar Donetsk was Celtic’s third match in seven days leaving Ange Postecoglou with a little breathing space with four full days around the training ground for Sunday’s noon kick-off at the Toni Maccaroni Arena.
