Kenny Miller has admitted that Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side are dull and boring to watch.

A 4-1 win over Aberdeen has stalled the calls for change at the top but the issues within the squad and club remain.

Six defeats between September 3 and October 27 came as a shock to the system of supporters who were told last season that their new manager had installed an exciting system of play capable of outsmarting Champions League sides such as Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.

Miller spends his week yapping about all things Ibrox to Radio Clyde, Sky Sports, Radio Scotland and BT Sport with no hiding place from the reality of results and almost as importantly, results under van Bronckhorst.

In the Daily Record Miller admits:

Make no mistake, his team is devoid of energy right now. The performances – not just in Europe – have been dull and boring to watch. The World Cup break will be an opportunity to work out WHY?

The Champions League results, as well as the Old Firm defeat to Celtic and last week’s draw with Livingston at Ibrox have been painful but I genuinely believe that when the football stops for Qatar 2022, the healing process can start for Rangers. There is a lack of belief in the dressing-room but they can rediscover that.

It seems that no matches between November 12 and December 17 will transform the squad, Miller concludes with:

If the level of performance stays the same – forget the league. It won’t happen. It doesn’t matter what Celtic do because Rangers will drop more points. They’re not playing well enough not to come unstuck. This might sound radical. But this team needs to play in a different way.

Having played under Coisty, Warbo, Pedro and Murts, Miller knows all about dull and boring football.
