Nine matches into the season Aston Villa fans are screaming for their club to sack Steven Gerrard.
After a gentle run of fixtures Villa are fifth from bottom in the EPL with two wins to their name following a 1-1 draw last night away to Nottingham Forest.
If you can’t beat the side bottom of the table on the back of a 4-0 derby defeat who can you expect to beat is the message from many Villa fans.
Game after game Gerrard gives the same dull analysis in which the players are to blame, failing to pick up on the brilliance of their manager and carry out his instructions.
The script seems very similar to 12 months ago at Ibrox when the former Liverpool skipper squirmed and looked around for an escape route.
Mauricio Pochettino seems to be the manager that Villa fans are dreaming of as they discover that the former Ibrox boss is just another former player living off past glories with no real flair or skills for life in football management.

A bit too much talk about the need for “magic”. They’re footballers no magicians. ?

Tired of him saying he needs people to step up and challenge them to be better in attacking areas. Have you tried coaching them in that aspect?

For gods sake, anyone can be a manager if when you start playing badly you just blame the players for not producing moments of magic. Even though Ashley Young did, he just needs MORE moments of magic.

Looks like Michael Beale has played a blinder.
Gerrard’s ex-assistant, who seemed to have the real footballing brain, timed his Villa exit well.
QPR currently sitting 3rd in the Championship.
It’s common knowledge that Michael Beale was the brains of the outfit. Since he’s left Gerard has shown himself to be clueless. Look at What Beale is doing at QPR, joint top with no budget to speak of. It’s only going to get worse with the games we’ve got coming up. Time to go
Cheer Up Stevie. Nobody remembers who managed **Rangers, anyway!
