The Daily Record appears to be leading a pile-on of Ibrox star Ridvan Yilmaz.

Signed in July in a stunning £5m swoop from Besiktas the early messages were that the Ibrox club has just signed a cross between Roberto Carlos and Stuart Pearce.

Three months into the new season the hapless Turk is stuck on the bench watching Borna Barisic toil at left-back with the Croatian a key part of a defence that has lost 16 goals in four Champions League ties.

Having duped Ajax into paying £18m for Calvin Bassey it seems that close to a third of that fee has been squandered on Yilmaz as the Tribute Act attempts to set up a Player Trading Model.

Assessing the £5m flop, the Daily Record tells its army of readers:

What’s clear even from limited evidence is Yilmaz’ positivity in possession compared to Barisic’s tendency for conservatism when confidence appears to be low. Van Bronckhorst and even deputy chairman John Bennett have defended Yilmaz’s lack of minutes, pointing out the club signed him on a deal for five years, not five weeks.

That’s all well and good, but when there’s a position in need of some fresh impetus, at what point does your £5m signing merit some serious consideration? Yilmaz’s lack of involvement has already allowed rumours of a January loan departure to Galatasaray to spring up, further frustration among supporters who are already scratching their heads.

Yilmaz is under contract until 2027!

The Record probably don’t care any more as there aren’t people left with clout at Ibrox to ban it’s typists for any nasty stories ! They are either resigning or ‘leaving,’ the clumpany .Is any one making book on who collapses first ? The Kharsi roll experts or the tribute act !
