The Daily Record was under heavy attack as they again ran with the ‘news’ that Leeds United and Aston Villa are ready to do battle to sign Ryan Kent.

Strangely with the transfer window ending just over a month ago there wasn’t the slightest sign of either club being interested in the Ibrox winger.

Kent’s first SPFL goal of 2022, at Hearts on Saturday, appears to have prompted someone at the Sunday Mirror to polish up a favoured story, eager for any sort of online attention the Daily Record have picked up on the kite and added their own unique touch to the tale.

Clicks may impress the accountants but on Twitter the story was met with a shrug of the shoulders with ‘again’ probably the politest reaction to a yarn that has been spun to death and discredited every time.

Credibility doesn’t show up on Google Analytics but perhaps one day a manager will advise their digital team just to let the ‘Leeds set to swoop for Kent’ story pass by.

I know that you can’t buy much for £1 nowadays ,but why waste even that on the “ROTTEN RECORD “

A whole pound. My god there was a time when you could actually buy a Fittbaw Klub for that price.
      That’s inflation for you.
The Diary ranjurs, cheaper than a packet of bog rolls and just as effective.
