Chris Sutton spoke for many when he delivered his blunt verdict on the pitch that Celtic will be playing on this Sunday.

Before any thoughts are given on tactics, form or injuries the plastic surface of the Tony Macaroni Arena is always discussed.

Whether it is changing your style of play or whether they should be allowed in the top flight of the SPFL managers, players and pundits all have an opinion on the most unpopular surface in the Scottish game. Especially Sutton.

Last season Ange Postecoglou managed to achieve what had escaped Brendan Rodgers and Neil Lennon by picking up a 3-1 at Livingston in February.

Earlier in the season Celtic had lost 1-0 to David Martindale’s side on one of those days when they could have played all day without scoring.

Already this season the hoops have scored five times on the plastic pitch at Kilmarnock, just one more than Livingston on Sunday will be enough to please the 7,000 Celtic fans inside the Tony Macaroni Arena.
