Conor Hazard will return to Celtic with a Finnish title medal and the fans award as HJK Helsinki Player of the Year.

The goalkeeper is one of the longest serving players at Celtic but it looks unlikely that he will add to his seven first team appearances for the hoops which included two penalty saves against Hearts in 2020 to complete the Quadruple Treble.

Previous loan spells at Falkirk, Dundee and Partick Thistle never really progressed him towards the Celtic first team but a season in Finland making 24 league appearances and playing in the Europa League will have given the 24-year-old the experience his career needed to kick on.

With Ben Siegrist understudy to Joe Hart the door at Celtic looks to be closed to Hazard who will probably follow Ross Doohan into the lower leagues in England.

On the back of Hazard’s positive loan experience HJK may be considered again by Celtic as an option to advance the development of players outside the first team squad.
