Willie Collum will referee Sunday’s match between Livingston and Celtic- in front of the Sky Sports cameras and with VAR in operation.

Scotland’s most experienced referee has yet to take charge of Celtic in the SPFL this season but he was in the middle for the League Cup tie away to Ross County at the end of August.

Collum was the VAR for Friday’s Hibs v St Johnstone match, keeping a low profile with minimal interference from the man watching the screens.

Should Celtic ask for publication of VAR conversations between McLean and Walsh?

Daniel McFarlane and Graeme Stewart, who was assistant VAR to Steven McLean at the Hearts v Celtic match, will be Collum’s assistants at Livingston with Matthew MacDermid the Fourth Official.

Alan Muir, an Additional Assistant at the notorious Celtic v Inverness Caley Thistle Scottish Cup semi-final in 2015 will be the VAR.

Sunday’s match will be Collum’s sixth SPFL Premiership match of the season.

Yet another set from the Loudon Loyal?

The only benefit of VAR from last week is we now have documentary evidence of “honest mistakes” that being dependant on them keeping the original footage and not deleting/overwriting. On previous showing by SPFL it wouldn’t surprise if they came out and said they only had a limited amount of diskspace for recordings.

Would the CFC board even have the cojones to call them out?

This weekend will be interesting. The standard of Scottish refs is woeful and unprofessional and I expect Collum to be his woeful best again on Saturday.

Contrast that with the excellent referee and linesmen against Shaktar tonight. They were totally professional and excellent throughout, applying the laws of the game fairly to both sides, with no need for VAR. There were no contentious decisions and the game flowed. They showed our so called officials up for the pitiful effort, lach of professionalism and bias they usually display. Well done to tonight’s officials.
