Celtic’s League Cup semi-final against Kilmarnock has been given the preferred Saturday tea-time slot.

There was a boisterous atmosphere at Hampden last season for a 1-0 win over St Johnstone with close to 45,000 Celtic fans enjoying a second half goal from James Forrest.

A month later a double from Kyogo Furuhashi gave Ange Postecoglou his first Celtic trophy with wins away to Ross County and Motherwell taking the hoops into the last four.

The semi-final date means that the home SPFL fixture with St Mirren is postponed with dates still to be arranged for that match and another home game against Livingston.

Ticket allocations have still to b announced for the semi-finals but Celtic supporters will likely get the whole of the North Stand, the East Stand, half of the South Stand and a chunk of the West Stand dependent on how many tickets Kilmarnock sell.

The two clubs will meet at Celtic Park the previous Saturday in the SPFL Premiership.
