A month away from leading his Celtic side to Sydney Ange Postecoglou has been explaining the real meaning of the club that he manages.
To most Australian’s a soccer club is mainly just a leisure outlet, an interest, something that they might dedicate a few hours a week to among a variety of tasks and interests.
The in-built passion that Celtic fans have for their club, their dedication and passion is something that instantly attracted Postecoglou after attempting to pass on his own passion to Australian fans. Even at international level the former Socceroos boss couldn’t generate the level of passion that had him fascinated by the European game.

After a trophy-less season played in front of empty stands the mix of Postecoglou and the Celtic support proved a very potent cocktail.
Following that soulless expeerienc the fans identified with a passionate outsider to the Scottish game, the new boss thrived off a genuine 12th man as he finally got the opportunity to deliver on the European stage that he felt had passed him by.
Before he heads back to Australia Postecoglou will lead Celtic into the Bernabeu Stadium to face Real Madrid, a landmark fixture for the manager with 10,000 Celtic fans expected to be scattered around the stadium.
He gets it. We are a club like no other.
