After Wednesday’s turgid display against Dundee one loyal bear took t Follow Follow pleading to be put out of his misery.

During Thursday Liz Truss and Steven Gerrard got the tap on the shoulder telling them to pack their bags but tomorrow the dull little Dutchman will still be in his job, sitting in the dug-out and sharing boring manager-speak comments afterwards with the media.

Gers572 is sick and tired of it all. The hammerings are well known- 4-0, 4-0, 3-0 and 7-1- have been followed by the tedium of getting the job done against Motherwell and Dundee.

The players have switched off, fans are turning their back but with a team of coaches on lucrative deals it looks like van Bronckhorst might outlive the lettuce with money too tight to mention at Ibrox.

Stuart McCall, Barry Ferguson and Graeme Murty are on standby for the caretaker gig.

I am afraid Gerrard fell into the same trap as Walter Smith, Ally McCoist, Derek Johnstone, Barry Ferguson Stuart McCall and many others thinking that they are learning management skills at Ibrox.

Basically the tactics are, name 11 men put them on the park and the officials will do the rest. Doesn’t work like that in the real world.

Despite this there is no shortage of people in the media willing to pay them well to display their “expertise.”
