Ange Postecoglou has made six changes to the Celtic side that lost 3-1 to RB Leipzig for today’s match at St Johnstone.

Three changes are made in defence with Stephen Welsh retaining his place. Cameron Carter-Vickers makes his first appearance since September 14 while full-backs Tony Ralston and Alexandro Bernabei get the chance to impress.

There is no obvious replacement for Callum McGregor, Sead Haksabaovic looks like playing in the advanced midfield role with Liel Abada and Giorgos Giakoumakis coming into the side.

Unusually there are two goalkeepers named among the substitutes, Greg Taylor and Moritz Jenz drop out of the squad completely.

While Celtic were losing in Leipzig, St Johnstone lost 2-1 away to Kilmarnock with Callum Davidson’s side sitting fourth bottom in the SPFL with 10 points from nine matches.

CELTIC: Hart; Ralston, Carter-Vickers, Welsh, Bernabei; Hatate, Haksabanovic, O’Riley; Abada, Giakoumakis, Jota

SUBS: Bain, Siegrist, Kyogo, Mooy, McCarthy, Abildgaard, Maeda, Forrest, Juranovic

Brilliant to see Anthony Ralston back in the team, with a flat back four. He gives us pragmatism and craft going forward, hopefully with the same on the other flank.

Can someone please explain why there’s 2 keepers on bench?

    Hi Joe,

Thanks for the excellent reporting on your site. CalMac out is a blow and I’m surprised Abildgaard doesn’t get a start but this kind of 4-3-3, come 4-1-5 seems interesting, with hopefully the right outcome! In Ange we trust, KTF

There’s a picture of Anthony outjumping, head and shoulders, FOUR defenders and the goalie to head the ball into the goal at Dingwall for the three points last season. That’s what we are missing!

    Have you got it?
