Soon after they were installed in the summer of 2018 Chris Sutton slammed Peter Lawwell for the prioritising of Disco Lights as John McGinn was joining Aston Villa from Hibs.
The tag stuck, after two seasons in the Champions League CEO Lawwell didn’t get to see his legacy with Zadok The Priest booming round the stadium. Instead Celtic fans have had to make do with a regular diet of Thursday night in the Europa League.
Lawwell has gone, well stepped back from his CEO role with the lights back on for Celtic’s Champions League adventures.

The Disco Lights do add a certain something in the build up to kick off, as one fan took a panoramic view of the stadium the switch was pressed with the fan capturing a very unique image.
In a roundabout way it sort of sums up Celtic’s Champions League experience. In it but not quite, bottom place guaranteed with a match to spare but with large passages from every match that suggests that they are closer to competing than the five scorelines suggest.
