Ange Postecoglou will leave it to the people in charge to sort out Scotland’s refereeing issues.

Whether that is within Celtic or at the SFA is unclear but following five matches with VAR in use the hoops boss has witnessed four penalties awarded against his side.

David Munro awarded Ross County a 50th minute penalty today when the ball struck Matt O’Riley at the end of the penalty box from no more than a yard.

VAR wasn’t involved in the decision but there is little doubt that recent incidents have build up a narrative that any handball in the penalty box results in a penalty. Unless it is Hearts away as Postecoglou highlighted after last week’s win over Dundee United.

1 minute 26 seconds

Q) What did you make of the penalty decision

I don’t think that I have done my football club any service the last couple of weeks talking about it (VAR) because they were only going to score one way today and that was the penalty they got. I think that it is best left to the people in charge.

Later he added:

It’s not the first time but if something does go against us you can sense in the players, you know they are ready to make amends. They may be put off in terms of what they need to do

In 15 Premiership matches Celtic have been awarded one penalty, in successive home matches penalties have been awarded against the hoops in circumstances that are best described as questionable.

Today’s results leave Celtic nine points clear at the top of the SPFL Premiership thanks to a run of 14 wins from 15 matches that have generated a goal difference advantage of plus 37, which is 17 more than their closest challengers.

Celtic aren’t back in SPFL action until December 17 when they are away to Aberdeen, in midweek they head to Sydney to play in two friendlies.

The Daily Record reports Postecoglou saying:

We don’t have to talk about it. Me talking about it in the last two weeks has done my football club no favours.

From my perspective, they were only ever going to score today by a penalty. That’s what they got.

I’ll leave it to the powers that be. I’ve said my piece on it. I’m just focusing on a group of players who are doing this club proud.

What is just as ridiculous is the possession to foul count again we have 70+%…while having 3 times as many fouls as our opponents!

Said it before we now have two sevco supporting official referees in charge if Celtic games the world can now see the corruption from the SFA the anti Irish stance they take against our club . We need to insist on referees being brought in to do the job allowing referees who drink with the new club supporters and 1 that actually works coaching their juniors is beyond belief . We never stop but the corrupt referee gave to be stopped. Var is operated by corrupt officials on behalf of the Sevco Friends Association

Nicholson is like a wee boy just out of school, uniformed and all! Like all the rest of them, suits! All totally obedient to Desmond their paymaster. But he couldn’t give a cluck about them!

It does seem as if refs who are 99%Rangers are out to get Celtic as usual. The discussion on BBC sounds as if Michael Stewart and agrees.Surely the SFA must investigate the questions surrounding these queries. as it’s unusual for so many penalties to be given against 1 team in nearly every game
