After four days of anticipation through a live ‘Gio-Blog’ the Daily Record is once again letting their army of readers down with the news that absolutely nothing is happening at Ibrox!

Keith Jackson breaks the news to loyal bears with an update that seems very very close to the message from Dutch reporter Marcel van der Kraan on Sky Sports yesterday.

With £4.5m required to pay Giovanni van Bronckhorst off the message from inside Ibrox is that they are standing by their under fire manager.

Last week the Record were telling their readers that a £900,000 loss on the club’s highest ever turnover was actually a £5.9m profit, today they are being asked to believe that van Bronckhorst has been handicapped by picking up the tab for winning the Behind Closed Doors title in season 20/21.

Jackson explains to Record readers:

Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst could be spared from the sack because he’s still picking up the tab for stopping Celtic’s bid for 10-in-a-row.

The Dutchman has headed on a family holiday with his Ibrox future in serious doubt after a damaging slump which has left his team turfed out of Europe and nine points off the pace at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

But sources in Holland believe van Bronckhorst still has the backing of a board sympathetic to his predicament after asking him to bite the bullet in the transfer market to cover the costs of financing Steven Gerrard’s title-winning season of 2019/20.

It’s thought the Rangers hierarchy accept his situation has been further undermined by a crippling injury list. Van Bronckhorst has now headed off for a short break in the belief he’ll be back at Auchenhowie to resume work while the World Cup is ongoing.

Our source told Record Sport : “There have been no discussions that would make him feel otherwise.”

Over the last year Record readers have been fed the £15m plus add-ons Nathan Patterson story, umpteen fantasies about the money made from reaching the Europa League Final, £30m plus for Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo and a £40m jackpot for reaching the group stage of the Champions League.

Now they are being told to brace themselves for austerity but that all will be fine once Filip Helander, Kemar Roofe and John Souttar report fit and well to face Hibs on December 15.

The reality is that £19.9m was brought in from the sales of Bassey and Aribo with £15m frittered away on seven players including Ben Davies, Rabbi Matondo and Ridvan Yilmaz.

Paying off van Bronckhorst and his coaching team would wipe that out leaving the next boss having to sell from the current squad in order to fund any January arrivals.

It seems that there is no updates on Ryan Kent or Alfredo Morelos signing new contracts.

Who will replace van Bronckhorst at Ibrox?

Crippling injury list ?. Here is another list carter vickers. Starfelt. Mcgregor and kyogo but of course that does not matter. The old club used to have two teams one for domestic games and the other for europe so we were told whatever happened ?
