Graeme Souness has put the spotlight on England’s horrendous ‘foreign policy’ and highlighted the impact on Ireland over hundreds of years.

Over the last week football pundits have been in the spotlight as they are pushed to comment on matters in Qatar.

The World Cup hosts have a shameful record on a number of issues but there is a saying about people in glass houses.

England and the USA lost out to Qatar in the process to host the 2022 World Cup Finals with the backlash of that unleashed in the build up to this years event.

Souness has been playing to the extreme right-wing Brexit audience in recent weeks, in line with his role as a columnist in the Daily Mail. Talking up his loyal credentials with the revelation that he was responsible for getting a portrait of an English queen in the home dressing room at Ibrox.

Flipping things around during coverage of Argentina v Saudi Arabia on ITV came as something of a shock.

Can I just say we’re not perfect as well in our history. We’re not perfect. You know the British haven’t been perfect in many parts of the world and including in Roy’s country. We’ve been far from perfect.

That’s the bottom line and the power of media influence uses all it can to help make Qatar look bad. NOWHERE IS PERFECT……
