QPR are happy to let Michael Beale move to Ibrox if that is what he is looking for.
The former Aston Villa assistant moved to the Championship side in the summer, a very decent level for someone to get their first opportunity in management.
Since moving to Loftus Road Beale has indulged in a shameless campaign of self promotion, linking himself with EPL jobs and indulging in a high profile visit to Ibrox last month when the pressure was building on van Bronckhorst.
QPR lost at Birmingham on the Friday night, Beale went on an Ibrox walkabout the next day with his employers losing three and drawing once in the matches since then.
With van Bronckhorst sacked yesterday Beale’s media messengers have been busy, last night the Daily Record called QPR chief Les Ferdinand for his thoughts on an approach from Ibrox for their current manager:
I haven’t spoken to Michael or Rangers about this. But I expected Michael’s name would be mentioned for the role at Rangers because he did such a good job while he was up there working with Steven Gerrard.
I don’t want to have to fight to keep anyone at QPR. I want people who want to be here. That’s the only way we can move forward.
If they want to be somewhere else, that’s what they’re going to do. We’d have to have a conversation. It’s not that I’d be happy to have it but I only want people at the football club who want to be here.
It looks like Beale’s star is sinking fast, a record of 9 wins, 5 draws and 8 defeats isn’t overly exciting with Ibrox looking like a very convenient escape route for the 42-year-old.
He can go no better than the breadman
