Seven days after sacking Giovanni van Bronckhorst the Ibrox Tribute Act are reportedly in contact with QPR to get permission to discuss their vacancy with Michael Beale.

After just 22 matches in management it seems clear that Beale is loyal only to his next pay check, with nine wins, five draws and eight defeats his record in the Championship is at best average.

On Saturday afternoon John Percy of The Telegraph tweeted that talks were going well with Beale but White denied that in a 3.30am tweet from Qatar where he is covering the World Cup for TalkSport.

The former STV and Sky Sports anchorman has a long connection with a variety of regimes at Ibrox, when he passes comment or tweets it can be assumed he is being fed information from a very high level.

It looks like White has been asked to tweet something positive but unless a guarantee is put up over compensation for Beale, believed to be £1.5m, official negotiations won’t get underway.

The Ibrox first team squad are back in training at Murray Park tomorrow with a closed doors friendly arranged against Swansea on Saturday.

Unless there is some dramatic movement it looks like Tav and Greegsy will be in charge of training tomorrow with Alfredo Morelos expected to make an appearance.
