Tom Lawrence has been ruled out of action until February or March.

The midfielder was apparently one of the star summer signings but hasn’t played since injuring a knee against Ross County on August 27.

A two week lay off turned into two months with the former Derby star expected to be back in contention to play against Hibs on December 15.

This afternoon Chris Jack of the Glasgow Times announced that Lawrence would be out until February/March but that story has been deleted although Radio Clyde are still running with it on their Twitter account. Jack was first with the news on Monday that Giovanni van Bronckhorst had been sacked.

Soon after the story from Chris Jack The Sun ran with a good news story that the Welshman was making good progress although no timeline was given on his return to action:

A report this afternoon claimed the 28-year-old won’t feature again until March – but SunSport understands he is making good progress in his injury recovery and he’s set to return much sooner.

Lawrence signed a three year contract in July as a free agent which should put him towards the top of the Ibrox wages table although still short of the massive deals that Kemar Roofe and John Lundstram are on.
