James Forrest could become the first Celt to play in the Nou Camp and in the Bernabeu if he features tomorrow night against Real Madrid.

With over 100 European appearances to his name the winger has also played at the San Siro, Parc de Princes and Allianz Arena but shows no tiredness or complacency about his career achievements.

Setting off towards his second century of goals with a header at Tynecastle gave him another landmark with the 31-year-old more than just an experienced head that Ange Postecoglou can rely on ‘to do a job’.

Asked if there would be another Champions League campaign after this one he told the Daily Record:

Aye, hopefully, I signed the deal at the end of last season and I hope to be here for as long as I can.

It’s massive. Every top European player wants to play in it. There are loads of boys who haven’t played in the Champions League before and they have loved every game we’ve played in, both home and away.

They’ve seen the way the fans have been as well and for anyone, no matter what age you are, you always want that. You want to continue to be a part of that for as long as you can.

Obviously this season, we’ve got so many good players, but when you are playing for Celtic you are in loads of competitions and being in the Champions League as well, there is nothing better. The hunger is still there, you still want to be a part of these nights.

With Jota back, fit and available Postecoglou has five wingers available for tomorrow’s match as Celtic complete their Champions League campaign.

Three vital SPFL fixtures follow before the World Cup break with full points certain to go a long way to ensuring a return to next season’s Champions League group stage.
