Celtic fans finally got the moment that their support deserved when Jota gave them a goal to cheer about in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Officially Celtic were given less than 2,000 tickets for the match but the constant singing throughout the match suggested at least that number and more had worked their Spanish contacts to get access to a ticket.
The majority of the travelling support remained in the city centre to watch the early evening kick-off in pubs and bars, the lucky ones with tickets made the most of the long wait to tick off Bernabeu from their Stadium Wish List.
Throughout the match the Real fans seemed bemused at the level of backing their opponents had in what was to them a fairly meaningless fixture, especially after their side were gifted two early penalties to kill off any chance of a contest.
Celtic fans had to stay behind for 20 minutes after the final whistle, they did so happily to soak up every moment of the experience with many Madrid fans waiting outside for a final chance to watch and marvel at an incredible level of backing.
